Influence in Media "Agenda Setting Function theory"

The agenda setting function theory explains that the media cannot influence the way that people think but that the media can influence on what people think. This means that if someone reads a magazine and they look at the cover, whatever is on the cover to them is what is most important on the magazine. The looks on the magazine cover will give the people an idea of what will be on the magazine but this doesn't mean the audience agrees on the viewpoint and this theory proves this. The theory may help me because it shows me that in the sport magazine, the cover might be the most important aspect and I have to make it as appealing as possible so that the reader gains interest. Also, this will get the magazine in the readers head and want them to find out what the article is about even if the article does not change there mind but at least they want to read the article.
